Pursuing Excellence for Tomorrow's Challenges
The Leader in Me program at H.E. Corley Elementary School is a whole-school transformative model that acts like the operating system of a computer - it improves performance of all other programs. Based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the Leader in Me produces transformational results such as higher academic achievement, fewer discipline programs and increased engagement among teachers and parents. Students are equipped with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century economy.
The qualities taught through this program include: leadership, accountability, adaptability, initiative, responsibility, problem solving, communication, teamwork and much more. These skills are learned through activities and lesson plans, and teachers and staff are trained on how to best implement The Leader in Me program. As Stephen R. Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, wrote "To change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions." At. H.E. Corley Elementary School, we hope to encourage positive change in our students and mold them into tomorrow's leaders.
